People characteristics:
Values: Denebolians highly value freedom, curiosity, learning, and the recording of experiences for future generations. They have inherited skills and thinking patterns from their ancestors who were primarily spies, scientists, and soldiers.
Societal Traits: Denebolians are viewed as peaceful, open-minded, creative, smart, and determined. They are willing to fight for their own freedom and the freedom of others, as well as for their allies and non-aligned peaceful nations and societies. Equality, both within their society and globally, is a core belief.
Citizen Characteristics: Denebolian citizens take equality seriously but can be emotional, impulsive, adventurous, and playful. While criminality is minimal, minor incidents may occur sporadically. However, Denebolians rarely engage in theft, corruption, or breaking laws.
Work and Opportunities: Equality extends to the working life of Denebolians, where every citizen has the same opportunities to shape their future, provided they earn it and gain the necessary experience.
Social Dynamics: Denebolians are known for their kindness, friendliness, and strong community bonds. Social events and activities are common, fostering a sense of unity and peace within the nation.
Government and Security: Despite transitioning to a civilian government, SHIELD, an intelligence agency, still operates to gather information and maintain secrets that could pose a threat to the nation or its allies. This has caused minor distrust with foreign nations, but Denebolians see it as a necessary evil for maintaining harmony and protecting their people and others from potential threats.
Genetics and Ethnicity:
Genetic Evolution: Denebolians have undergone genetic alterations and mutations due to experiments during the New Berk City era. This has resulted in minor mutations in their genetic code and an accelerated evolving stage, leading to differences in genetics compared to humans on Earth. Denebolians are now wary of further genetic manipulation due to the potential risks, as demonstrated by the accident that contaminated the population of Berk Empire.
Diversity of Abilities: Denebolians exhibit various abilities, such as increased brain activity, telekinesis, telepathy, healing powers, and more. These abilities typically manifest between the ages of 15 and 18, and individuals must undergo special training programs to learn to control their powers. SHIELD oversees this process and determines whether individuals are capable of controlling their abilities before permitting their use.
Longevity and Technology Interface: Denebolians have a longer lifespan, with regular individuals living up to around 150 years, while some rare cases have lived over 300 years. By the age of 15, most Denebolians gain access to technology through eye implants, allowing them to control and operate devices. Additionally, neural interfaces become available after the age of 20 for direct neural connection to technology.
Regulations and Oversight: Biological manipulation has been prohibited since the founding of the Star City Empire, with recent decisions by DA leaders to cease all biological manipulation without international supervision across all DA member states. However, cybernetic enhancements are not always shared with other nations, except in certain cases such as members of GUARD from other nations.
Citizenship:
Birthright Citizenship: Anyone born within the territory of the Denebolian Republic automatically receives Denebolian citizenship.
Naturalization Process: Individuals who wish to become Denebolian citizens through naturalization must pass exams on Denebolian history. Upon successful completion, they are granted pre-citizenship status. After living in the Denebolian Republic for five years and undergoing random observations by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they can attain full citizenship.
Full Citizenship: Full citizens have all rights and privileges. They must either be born within Denebolian territory or complete five years of pre-citizenship status. Exceptions may apply.
Pre-Citizenship: Pre-citizens have all rights except the ability to enlist in military branches or be employed in government or science institutions. After five years of residency, they can obtain full citizenship. This duration can be shortened to three years if the individual has already lived in the Denebolian Republic for at least two years.
Denebolian Accord Members: The rights and obligations of members are specified by the Denebolian Accord Treaty.
Excommunication: Excommunicated individuals retain basic human rights but are restricted from military service, government employment, or scientific institutions. They are also prohibited from using interstellar travel methods. Cybernetic implants are removed, and power inhibitors are implanted if the individual possesses natural abilities.
Traitors/Criminals: Those deemed traitors or criminals may have their rights restricted, and they may be imprisoned or banished from the Denebolian Republic.
Honorable Citizenship: Honorable citizenship is granted for distinguished actions. It is similar to full citizenship but includes additional privileges such as free interstellar transport and communication.
Solar system:
SHIELD mission provides us with names of planets in our solar system. Our system has 7 planets. Three planets are habitable, Denebol-1, Denebol-4 and Denebol-7. We use these names, but new national referendum about names of planets in our solar system was annouced. Results are still unknown.
New referendum decided about new official name for planet Denebol-4. In Denebolian culture the Denebol-4 shall from now be known as Panthalassa, or shorter variation Panthal.
Names for the planets in our solar system (from closest to star to the most far away):
- Aurorium
- Derived from "aurora," representing the dawn or new beginnings, and augmented by the fiery connotations of "Aurora Borealis" or northern lights. Given its status as a fire planet and host to international prisons, "Auroria" suggests a place of intense heat and transformation, where individuals may seek redemption or face the consequences of their actions under the fiery gaze of its sun.
- Caelum
- Meaning "sky" or "heaven" in Latin, "Caelum" symbolizes the vastness and majesty of this celestial body. It represents the awe-inspiring expanse of the cosmos, inspiring wonder and contemplation among those who explore it.
- Aquiluna
- Merging "Aqua," symbolizing water, with "Luna," representing the moon. "Aquiluna" reflects the planet's watery landscapes and lunar influences, highlighting its unique geological features and celestial connections.
- Panthalassa
- This name is derived from Greek, combining "Pan," meaning "all" or "whole," and "thalassa," meaning "sea." It symbolizes the unity and interconnectedness of the planet's inhabitants, likening them to the vastness and diversity of the world's oceans. "Panthalassa" evokes a sense of inclusivity and shared heritage, highlighting the planet's role as a home to multiple nations living in harmony.
- Gaistra
- Combining elements of "Gaia," representing Earth or land, with "Astra," signifying the stars or celestial realm. "Gaistra" symbolizes the planet's terrestrial beauty and cosmic significance, despite its lack of habitability.
- Exlipta
- Derived from "Eclipse," representing moments of alignment or convergence, "Eclipta" signifies the dynamic and ever-changing nature of this celestial body. It evokes images of celestial phenomena and astronomical events that shape the planet's landscape.
- Luminae
- Derived from "lumina," meaning light, and reflecting its role as the most distanced planet in the solar system. With scientific research taking place there, "Luminae" evokes images of distant stars and the pursuit of knowledge in the far reaches of space. It symbolizes the quest for enlightenment and discovery, amidst the vast expanse of the cosmos.
Religion:
Centuries ago, during the early days of planet exploration and colonization, humanity on Denebol-4 encountered remnants of an ancient and highly advanced civilization scattered across continent. Among these discoveries were artifacts, ruins, and enigmatic transmissions hinting at a civilization far more technologically advanced than anything humanity had ever known. These beings came to be known as the "Ancient Ones."
As humanity expanded its reach into the stars and found more remnants across the galaxy, fascination with the Ancient Ones grew. Their technology, wisdom, and purported ascension to a higher plane of existence captured the imagination of many. Legends and myths began to form around the Ancient Ones, with tales of their benevolence, extraordinary powers, and their role in shaping the destiny of the galaxy.
In the Denebolian region, these legends took root and evolved into a unique religious belief system. Followers of this faith, inspired by the perceived greatness of the Ancient Ones, sought to emulate their example and ascend to a higher level of existence themselves. They believed that the Ancient Ones had left behind clues and teachings that, if deciphered and understood, could unlock the secrets to ascension for humanity.
Over time, this religion became deeply intertwined with the cultural identity of the Denebolian people. Current status of Denebolian religion:
The Denebolian Republic has a secular state religion, with no preference or prohibition regarding belief systems. Most Denebolians are atheists, but a small percentage follow various religions, including those similar to Earth religions or with slight alterations. One original religion in the Denebolian Republic centers around belief in ancient powerful beings known as the "Ancient Ones." These beings are believed to have ascended to a higher level of existence and are revered by some as guides to enlightenment. Followers of the Ancient Ones are determined to learn and ascend themselves, often resorting to extreme methods, including threats and violence, to achieve their goals. Ganos Lal, an ascended being in legend, and a supposed protector named Anterro are revered figures in this faith, although there is no concrete evidence of their existence. There are concerns that extremists within this faith have infiltrated various institutions, including the Denebolian government and potentially SHIELD, posing a significant threat to stability and security.
Threats and Concerns:
The discovery of a temple connected to the Ancients on the planet Dakarra has heightened tensions, as radicals may seek to exploit this knowledge for their own purposes. There are fears that extremists may resort to violence to access the temple on Dakarra, putting the primitive inhabitants of the planet at risk. SHIELD is conducting investigations to identify and root out radicals within its ranks to mitigate the threat posed by religious extremists.
